I started with JSD in October 2014 not being able to run the length of myself! In my infinite wisdom I had signed up for Edinburgh Half Marathon which was 7 months away. Not really knowing what to expect I went along nervous, overweight, and totally out of my comfort zone.
I have met the best of people at JSD, becoming good friends with some, enjoying our own little runs outwith the group and the occasional coffee!
That’s the great thing about JSD it doesn’t matter how slow you are, you are encouraged and supported regardless, everyone comes home!
Fast forward 9 years, I have several parkruns, half marathons, 5k races, 10k’s and various OCR races under my belt and goodness knows how many running miles! I barely had the confidence to run for 15mins when I first started!
I spent many years as a Jog Leader buddy before taking the plunge in 2020 to become a qualified Jog Scotland Leader. We have a great team of leaders who are all committed, welcoming, supportive, and encouraging, an ethos that means a lot to all of us.
